The City of Gothenburg

Gothenburg is Sweden's second largest city.

But we need to be honest. Once upon a time, Gothenburg was a gray industrial town with shipyards, automobile factories, and possibly some "goa gubbar" (funny old men).

Today, Gothenburg is one of Europe's hottest cities with a vibrant cultural life, domesticity, one of Scandinavia's best cuisines and always a wide range of great experiences within walking distance.

It is not something we say just to get the new top candidates for our molecular medicine center. We could be content to point out the obvious - that Sweden is one of the safest countries in the world. Or brag about our fantastic system of social security, health care and child care for all who need it, and free education.

But, Gothenburg is a really nice city. If you do not believe us, you can always start by reading what others said about us. We know they are right.
